Pitch for the opening titles for Netflix's Marco Polo. We travel with Marco through Kublai Khans's vast realm, mixing the imagery of Central Asia's sweeping landscapes with intimate portraits of the various ethnic people he observes along the way, their eyes a mix of suspicion and interest as they see a European for the first time. We end our journey at Xandu – Maro Polo kneeling before the Khan, and beginning to describe the vast kingdom to the emperor through the writings in his journal.

The following edit is a test I created to present the overall mood and feel for the piece – something epic and mysterious all at once.
